Kemba Walker will face off against his former team early in the season

The NBA season will officially kick off on October 22 and many key games for the Boston Celtics have already been revealed. Among them, the dates for the Celtics’ first matchups against Al Horford and the Philadelphia 76ers as well as Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets.

Lost in the shuffle was the date that three-time All-Star Kemba Walker will face off against his former team, the Charlotte Hornets.

Per The Athletic and Stadium’s Shams Charania, Walker will make his first return to Charlotte on November 7.

After leading UConn to a national championship in 2011, Walker played for the Hornets for eight seasons after being selected ninth overall by Charlotte in 2011 NBA Draft, earning a favorable reputation amongst his peers despite the lack of team success.

The Hornets only reached the playoffs twice under Walker, losing in the first round on both of those occasions. However, with a better supporting cast and the history of a winning culture, Walker hopes to fair better in New England than he did in the Carolinas.
