Kemar Roofe puts out the message every Leeds United fan wants to see

Kemar Roofe has taken to social media to rally fans and remind them the season is not over yet despite a bitterly disappointing Easter weekend.

Following losses against Wigan Athletic and Brentford, Leeds United have slipped from second position, with three points separating them from Sheffield United, into third position, three points behind their Yorkshire rivals.

Roofe replaced Tyler Roberts at half-time to play the second half against Wigan and came on after 58 minutes against Brentford, but was unable to make an impact in either game as he continues his comeback from the knee injury which saw him miss almost two months.

However, the former Oxford United forward has posted on Instagram to remind fans it’s not all over yet.

He posted: “The past 5 days have hurt a lot but we don't have time to feel sorry for ourselves...we still need to achieve what we set out for! We haven't come this far to give up now! ⚽️   #LUFC#MOT”

The post has clearly struck a chord with fans. It received more than 8,000 likes in the first 12 hours after it was posted.

Roofe is currently the club's top scorer with 14 league goals from 31 Championship appearances.

Next up for the Whites is a visit from in-form Aston Villa, who have won their last 10 games. Kick-off at Elland Road is noon.
