Kelly Osbourne praises Ozempic for weight loss despite side effects

Kelly Osbourne praises weight loss drug Ozempic despite her mother's side effects disclosure

In recent news, Kelly Osbourne has publicly shared her positive opinion of Ozempic, a Type 2 diabetes medication that aids in blood sugar control and weight loss. Despite her mother, Sharon Osbourne, previously disclosing the unpleasant side effects she experienced while taking the drug, Kelly has expressed enthusiasm for its effectiveness.

During an interview on the red carpet at Dolly Parton's Pet Gala, Kelly Osbourne gushed about Ozempic, stating, 'I think it's amazing. There are a million ways to lose weight, why not do it through something [that] isn't as boring as working out?' Her endorsement of Ozempic was accompanied by a response to critics, whom she believes may be secretly using the injection themselves or resentful that they cannot afford it. She hypothesized that those who are most adamantly against the medication are likely experiencing jealousy or frustration.

Kelly Osbourne's comments about Ozempic are in line with her candid discussions about her struggles with weight and body image over the years. She has previously admitted to going to extremes in an effort to shed the baby weight gained during her pregnancy with her son, Sidney. Despite her mother's cautionary tales about excessive plastic surgery, Kelly also expressed a desire for cosmetic procedures.

It is worth noting that Sharon Osbourne, Kelly's mother, has also publicly shared her experience with Ozempic. While acknowledging that the medication helped her lose weight, Sharon revealed that she suffered from troubling side effects. Describing months of debilitating nausea and stomach upset, the 71-year-old star explained the challenges she faced. Even after achieving a weight lower than 100 pounds, she admitted to feeling unsatisfied with her gaunt appearance and expressed difficulty in putting weight back on.

Despite her ongoing struggle to regain some weight, Sharon Osbourne does not regret her decision to try Ozempic. Numerous other celebrities have also been open about their use of Ozempic or other weight loss medications. Oprah Winfrey, politician George Santos, and podcaster Claudia Oshry are just a few examples of public figures who have acknowledged incorporating such medications into their weight loss journeys.

On the other hand, several celebrities, including 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' star Kyle Richards, her co-star Erika Jayne, and 'The Hills' alum Heidi Montag, have denied the use of any weight loss medication in association with their slimming down.

While Kelly Osbourne's enthusiastic endorsement of Ozempic may resonate with some individuals seeking alternative approaches to weight loss, it is essential to remember that medication affects each person differently. As with any medical decision, it is crucial to consult with a healthcare professional before starting or altering any treatment plan.
