Keith McCabe promises fight of the night with Philip Mulpeter at Bellator Dublin

Keith McCabe is promising fans at the 3 Arena one of the fights of the night when he faces Philip Mulpeter next Friday at Bellator Dublin.

The Dubliner has the benefit of a full fight camp for the first time since joining the promotion earlier this year, and is fighting another veteran of the Irish MMA scene in Mulpeter.

And speaking with Irish Mirror less than ten days out from the fight, McCabe promised a scrap that will get fans off their feet.

"We match up quite similarly stylistically," he said. "Wrestling, striking, on the ground, even look as well! I've seen pictures of his ginger beard floating around online.

"I know he likes pushing forward but I've got to be first, but we both like going forward and that's why I think it's going to be a great fight, I just need to be first with the shots.

"This is going to be a cracking fight, it has fight of the night written all over it."

With Andy Ryan in the corner of 'The Butcher' and John Kavanagh in that of 'The Honeybadger', fans are in for a rivalry fight between two of the country's top gyms in Team Ryano and SBG Ireland.

Speaking about reviving the old feud, McCabe said: "It's always exciting to have the two biggest clubs in Ireland going against each other.

"But I'm not a big fan of all that trash talk stuff before the fight and he isn't either, which is good because we both have a fight at hand and we can just focus on that."

McCabe's last outing came as a late replacement for Richard Kiely at Bellator London where he fought ex-UFC fighter Galore Bofando to a decision, but unfortunately came out the wrong side with the judges.

Now, with more time to train and an opponent with whom he matches up well, he's excited by the prospect of what could be a make-or-break fight in the promotion.

"I got the call with a few days notice for the last fight and I think I gave a good account of myself based on that.

"This is a show where I can really make a big name for myself and let Bellator know that I belong with their roster."

Tickets for Bellator Dublin are on sale now through  Ticketmaster.ie  and  Bellator.com , as well as the 3Arena box office.
