Kayky names Man City ambition after making senior debut in FA Cup

Kayky has made public his ambition to ensure he plays more games for Manchester City as he reacted to his 'remarkable' debut for the club.

Brazilian Kayky was a summer signing from Fluminese for an initial £9m and City brought forward his arrival at the club to the start of the season after he was meant to remain in Brazil until this month.

The 18-year-old winger has used his time at the City Football Academy to build up experience of training under Pep Guardiola, while he made his under-23 debut in the EFL Trophy at Rotherham in October.

Since then, the popular winger has played another eight times for the youth team in the Premier League 2 and UEFA Youth League, as well as being a regular in first team training. He has been praised for his talents and attitude by Pep Guardiola and first team players including Gabriel Jesus, while fans have been keen to see how he fares whenever he plays.

After a handful of appearances in senior matchday squads in recent weeks, Kayky was rewarded with a senior debut late on in the FA Cup win at Swindon on Friday for the closing stages.

The winger only played the final four minutes plus injury time, but took to Instagram to reveal his pride at finally making his senior debut for his new club, hinting that he would prefer to stay and fight for his place at City.

"Remarkable day in my life, debut for @mancity's main team," he wrote before revealing his intention to play more for the club rather than play elsewhere on loan.

"May it be the first of many, 'C’MON CITY'.

Among those replying to his post were fellow Brazilian Ederson, and former Fluminese team-mate Metinho, who has also signed for the City Football Group.

City fans have been following Kayky's progress closely, and were delighted when he scored his first goal against Leeds in the Premier League 2. He could now be involved for the under-23s against Blackburn on Sunday.
