Jessica Fox's remarkable post-surgery return has continued, with the Australian winning a gold medal at the latest ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup event in Europe.
Just nine months after the 31-year-old Penrith superstar had a benign tumour removed from her left kidney, Fox bettered last week's silver in Slovenia, in her return to racing, by winning kayak gold in the Czech Republic on Friday (Saturday AEST).
After qualifying for the K1 final in seventh place, the three-time Olympic champion delivered a sensational run of 108.84 to secure the top step of the podium, beating home Poland's Klaudia Zwolinska (111.30) and Slovakia's Zuzana Pankova (112.75) on the challenging Prague course.
"It's unbelievable, I'm so happy, so proud, so grateful for all the support and all the cheers," Fox said after the final in the Czech Republic capital.
