Katie Price’s social media absence explained as she announces Instagram break

Katie Price has become ‘very sick’ during her holiday to Thailand, we can exclusively reveal.

The 44-year-old glamour model jetted to Thailand last week with her beau Carl Woods, who hopes to have a baby with Katie soon.

Katie has been snapped lapping up the sunshine and heading on a shopping spree with Carl, 33, during their trip to the Far East.

But, Katie sparked concern amongst her fans as she announced a decision to take a break from social media for ‘personal reasons’ on Thursday (July 7).

Writing on her Instagram stories, Katie explained: “I will be coming off social media for a period of time.

“I need to take time off for personal reasons.

“Thank you to all my loyal fans for always supporting me XXX”.

Now, a source has told the Mirror that Katie has fallen ill with suspected food poisoning on her trip.

They said: “Katie and Carl have been absolutely loving their time away.

“Thailand is such a special place for the two of them.

“They have travelled to Thailand so many times together. The pair have been there for just over a week now.”

The source added: “Katie suddenly got very sick.

“She has been throwing up and feeling poorly. Katie could possibly have got food poisoning, although she’s trying to not let it affect her holiday and time with Carl.”

“She is slowly on the mend,” the source said. “Katie is hoping she can enjoy the last few days of her holiday without any interruptions and can soon be back to her usual self.”

Days before jetting off on her romantic break, where she has also been spotted trying on wedding dresses, Katie narrowly escaped having to serve prison time.

She was handed an 18-month community order to carry out 170 hours of unpaid work, with an additional 20 hours added on for a breach of a suspended sentence following her driving conviction.

The TV personality was also ordered to pay £1,500 in costs.

Judge Stephen Mooney told her: "In my judgement, this offence was committed out of anger.

"The words you used were highly offensive and inflammatory."

Katie pleaded guilty to breaching a restraining order after she send her ex-husband Kieran Hayler a text, calling his fiancée a “gutter s**g”. She is banned from contacting Michelle “directly or indirectly” in a five-year restraining order, which was imposed in 2019.

The alleged message read: "Tell your... girlfriend not to start on me.

"She [Ms Penticost] has a restraining order so shouldn't try antagonise me as she is in breach and I'm sure she doesn't want people knowing that she was having an affair with you behind my back.”

Katie had originally pleas not guilty to the charge but later changed her plea to guilty at a hearing at Lewes Crown Court.

The court heard the use of the words “tell your”, was an indirect attempt to contact Michelle Penticost.
