Katie Price 'buys £50k car' as driving ban is lifted and bankruptcy hearing rescheduled

Katie Price has bought a £50k Hummer and is back behind the wheel after her two-year driving ban was lifted, according to reports.

The glamour model, 44, has been snapped driving the brand-new truck after being banned from the road for a sixth time following a cocaine and booze-fuelled crash.

The car boasts a personalised number plate and huge suspended alloy wheels and Katie has been snapped climbing out of the left-hand-drive vehicle this past weekend.

In September 2021, the star flipped her car during an accident near her home in Sussex.

The mum-of-five was pulled from the wreckage of her BMW X5 after being found slumped in the passenger seat by a passer-by.

The former I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star was almost twice the drink-drive limit and tested positive for cocaine.

She was given a 16-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months, a two-year driving ban and 100 hours of community service after admitting to drink-driving while disqualified and without insurance.

Earlier this year, Katie revealed she attempted suicide after hitting 'rock bottom' following her drink-driving arrest.

She has since had the ban lifted and treated herself to a new ride, according to pictures obtained by The Sun.

It’s the latest development this week in Katie’s turbulent life after she had been due to attend a hearing over her bankruptcy and £3.2m debt repayment at the Royal Courts of Justice last week but had it pushed back for a fifth time, to July 7 this year.

In February this year, the hearing was postponed for a fourth time, after originally being scheduled to take place in June 2022.

Katie previously agreed to pay £12,000 a month but her creditors claim she has not been sticking to the deal.

Katie was meant to pay the £12,000 per month to creditors of the firm through an individual voluntary arrangement.

A considerable amount of the £3.265m is owed for mortgages secured against her “Mucky Mansion” in West Sussex.

Bankruptcy trustees will want to find out how much glamour model Katie has been paid for TV work, including a Channel 4 show in which she attempted to renovate her £2m country house.

One of her sources of income is her £12-a-month OnlyFans page, where she posts raunchy photos and videos. She also flogs her old clothes on Depop and sells her used underwear and stockings.

It was recently said the court would be questioning the star on where she earns all her money and how she plans to pay back her debts.

A source explained to the Mirror in January: “The court will wish to know where every penny comes from, whether that’s from selling her old clothes on Depop or stripping out of her clothes on OnlyFans. Only then can the court make up its mind about her ability to pay.”

The former glamour model, who was worth £45m at one point in her life, was declared bankrupt in 2019.

In 2021, she was hit with a repossession order on her mansion over a £500,000 debt – meaning if it is sold, the proceeds must be used to clear what she owes.

Asked about her bankruptcy hearing during an appearance on The Jeremy Vine Show, Katie said: "I think you shouldn't be ashamed if you have a bankruptcy because it's for different reasons people go into a bankruptcy. I went through a really tough time in the last few years with my mental health.

"When you go through that, you put things to the side because you can't cope with anything.

"I'm proud that I've come to the other end. It's life isn't it, sometimes you have to face these things but I'm happy and I'm in a good position. It is what it is."

Katie went on to explain the bankruptcy was related to two specific people.

"The bankruptcy is to do with two people in my past, that's what it's about - and you just have to deal with it," she added.
