Katie McGlynn shows off her toned figure as she hits the gym after wowing fans with new look

Glam soap star Katie McGlynn has had flashbulbs popping while showcasing a new look this month. And on Sunday she swapped the red carpet for the gym as she put herself through her paces.

The former Coronation Street and Hollyoaks actress from Rochdale showed off her gym-honed figure as she posed for a mirror selfie at home. She looked ready for her workout in a pair of lilac shorts and a pink sporty cropped top.

After working up a sweat she shared another picture of herself mid-workout wearing headphones. She posted the picture on her Instagram Stories with a hot-face emoji.

Katie, who played the much-loved character Sinead Osbourne in Coronation Street, recently revealed her new shorter haircut while going back to blonde after a spell as a brunette while playing troublemaker Becky Quentin in the Channel Four soap Hollyoaks. She rocked her chic new do at the premiere of The Railway Children Return at Keighley Picture House Cinema.

One Instagram follower katiesgalaxyxox complimented: "Loving the hair." And x_crystal.duke_x said: "You look absolutely stunning." And Katie, 28, channeled Hollywood glamour with her long bob curled out at the ends at the TRIC Awards at Grosvenor House in London.

She dazzled in a stylish figure-hugging LBD and pointed heels with sparkling ankle straps to match the straps on her dress. Sharing a snap on her Instagram she said: "You can’t go wrong with an LBD."

And she was flooded with compliments. Reality star Vicky Pattison gasped: "Wow." And former Coronation Street co-star Victoria Ekanoye who played Angie Appleton exclaimed: "ERRRRM. You avin a laff!? THE best pic of you I’ve ever seen."

Lisa George who plays Sinead's aunt Beth Sutherland in Corrie told her: "Stunning." And Sally Carman who plays Abi Franklin wrote: "FIT." Katie played machinist Sinead in Corrie from 2013 until the machinist tragically passed away after fighting cervical cancer in 2020.

She previously played pupil Scout Allen in the BBC One Rochdale school drama Waterloo Road. Last year Katie was partnered with pro dancer Gorka Marquez on Strictly Come Dancing.

Taking to Instagram to mark her Hollyoaks exit in March after playing conspiracy theorist Becky she wrote: "Becky Quentin, over and out! @HollyoaksOfficial. "It’s been an absolute pleasure playing Becky and getting my teeth into something so different and gritty!"

As an actor, to be able to portray someone that has so much likeness to extremely current global issues from conspiracy theories to anti-vaxxers, coronavirus and sinophobia… I really hope the storyline has helped raise some important issues and helps people see how easy it is for someone to be sucked into this whole world of fake news and conspiracy!"

She added: "Thank you to the entire cast and crew for being so unbelievably amazing and welcoming me with open arms! I will miss you all, but other exciting opportunities beckon…"
