Kate Garraway unaware of 'unbelievable' likeness to daughter in unrecognisable throwback clips

Kate Garraway was left stunned by the 'unbelievable' likeness she shares with her daughter.

The Good Morning Britain star was back on the ITV show on Thursday alongside Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard.

The team were discussing their success at the TRIC Awards which took place on Wednesday afternoon.

Kate, 54, was awarded the TRIC Special Award in tribute to her broadcasting career - a week after she emotionally picked up a National Television Award for her documentary on husband Derek Draper.

During the awards ceremony, a montage of the presenter's career to date was played out - and showed briefly on GMB.

Kate cringed as she watched herself back in reports from more than 20 years ago, showing off her natural brunette locks.

The clip showed the TV star as she appeared on Central News South.

But as the camera cut back to the studio where Susanna pointed out how much it reminded her of Kate's 15-year-old daughter Darcey.

"You look exactly the spitting image of Darcey," Susanna said, before explaining how they've mocked up a side by side image to show the uncanny resemblance.

Kate replied: "Oh let's have a look, she will hate this by the way!"

As the image showed up on the screen, she added "Oh my goodness! That is unbelievable, I've never seen it!"

Co-star Ben asked: "I mean to be fair, Darcey is 15/16? She looks more grown up than you!"

Kate laughed: "Well, indeed."

Showbiz reporter Richard Arnold then joked: "And also, a revelation that Billy is the only natural blonde in the family!" referring to Kate's son.

"Isn't that extraordinary, I love that," Ben added, as Kate admitted: "That's amazing isn't it? Can somebody send me these photos, I really want copies of them."

And Billy stole the show during Kate acceptance speech at yesterday's awards as he appeared in a video message to his mum saying; "Thank you so much for looking after dad and trying to make him get better."
