Kate Garraway says she 'can't see' as GMB co-host Ranvir Singh called her out for 'bailing'

Kate Garraway has confessed she "can't see" as she returned to Good Morning Britain this morning.

The presenter was back fronting the ITV news programme alongside Ranvir Singh - who called her out for 'bailing' on her earlier this week.

But Kate, 54, had a perfect reason as she's been struggling with a nasty eye infection this week as well as an inner ear infection.

The subject was brought up on Thursday's show as Kate said to Ranvir first thing: "It's nice to see you!"

Ranvir asked: "Well, can you see me? This is the issue! We were meant to be doing something earlier in the week, weren't we?"

She explained how the pair were supposed to work on a secret telly project earlier in the week but Kate had to cancel last minute.

"We were doing a special project, which you will see more about later in the year," Kate explained.

"But then you bailed on me, Garraway!" Ranvir said.

"I did bail because I couldn't see. I know it's always one of my excuses, I can barely read the auto-cue at the best of times, but I had an eye infection Friday, do you remember it was watering a bit when I was on the show, and then it spread to the other eye.

"So I couldn't put my contacts in, I couldn't see anything."

Kate then revealed that her inability to see left her making a massive money blunder.

They ended up laughing about it in the end (ITV)

"I actually was sending random texts to people with the wrong thing, really confusing," Kate said. "'I transferred some money into the wrong account on an app and I had to ask for it back.

"It was mortifying. And then I had an ear infection."

But Kate reassured: "Nothing serious, just frustrating and annoying," before cracking on with the rest of the show.
