Kate Garraway has spoken on the impact of sepsis, revealing a loved one believed they were going to die following a diagnosis.
The TV presenter spoke with families who had been impacted by the disease and are now pushing for a national inquiry into alleged shortcomings in care treatment on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday (31 March).
Garraway told Zaheer Ahmed, whose five-year-old nephew passed away from sepsis in hospital in 2022, that she has personal experience with the disease herself.
“Someone I loved who had sepsis, who said, 'This is bad, I feel like I'm going to die,' and the medical professional didn't necessarily believe that at that point.”
Garraway did not specify who she was referring to, though her late husband Derek was hospitalised with sepsis after contracting Covid-19.
