Good Morning Britain 's Kate Garraway has spoken about the terrifying moment her car tyre exploded at the weekend on a busy motorway.
Speaking to her co host Ben Shephard, Kate she had never experienced an explosion like it before and added: “It’s the sort of thing you actually dread”.
She had been attending a socially distanced gathering in Kent and was driving back to London, when the incident occurred.
Kate said she lost control of the car as smoke and rubber flew everywhere, as she was forced to pull over and was left dangerously in the way of oncoming traffic.
It was Kate's first road trip with her family since husband Derek Draper was hospitalised with Covid-19.
She begged the universe to stop bringing her back luck as she admitted she had reached her limit for coping.
Kate, whose husband Derek Draper is currently recovering from a coma caused by coronavirus, said she had been stretched to her limit with bad luck.
"Could you squeeze any more drama into your life please?" Ben asked incredulously.
"You know people say God and the universe doesn't send you what you can't deal with," replied Kate.
"I would like to put a message out, I am at my limit, I am at my absolute limit now.
"If the universe could just give me a calm Monday!"
She also criticised the AA for its reaction to her crisis, and said the Kent police were much more helpful.
She said the AA struggled to communicate with her and kept asking her to go to a quiet spot while she was stranded on the motorway.
However, she praised those who assisted her by name and thanked Liz and Mark from Kent police, Jordan from the AA, and a worker from Next in the nearby retail park who helped take care of her while she was “too shaken” to drive after the horrifying accident.
