SHIVAMOGGA: Days after the Shivamogga district police arrested two youths on the charges of links to terror network ISIS, the SP BM Laxmi Prasad on Friday said the accused had learnt about bomb explosion and planned to detonate bombs to kill innocent people.

The SP told reporters that the accused were connected to their handlers in ISIS through video conferencing platforms on the dark web. The two were picked up by the police while investing a stabbing case while another accused is absconding.

Jabiullah, the prime accused in Prem Singh stabbing case on August 15, has links with Shariq, who is absconding after he was charged under the stringent UAPA. Another two accused, who are arrested, Sayed Yasin and Maaz, are friends with Shariq. During the investigation and search operation at 11 locations in Shivamogga, the cops have recovered 14 mobiles, two laptops, internet dongle and pen drives, the IPS officer said.
