KALABURAGI: The CID on Thursday arrested Afzalpur Congress MLA MY Patil’s gunman and a City Armed Reserve constable in connection with irregularities in the recruitment test for police sub-inspectors.
The gunman, Hayyali Desai, and constable Rudragouda Patil were nabbed at Ram Mandir Circle in Kalaburagi city. Desai was selected in the PSI provisional list with the highest marks. He was arrested when he was in the vehicle along with Patil.
Three invigilators of Jnana Jyothi English Medium School, which was an exam centre, and three candidates who had written exams at the centre have also been apprehended. The husband of BJP functionary Divya Hagaragi, who is the school’s president, has been arrested for helping two candidates escape. Hagaragi is yet to be picked up.
