Kareena Kapoor Khan mourns the demise of 'Bodyguard' director Siddique; says 'You will be missed'

Noted Malayalam director and screenwriter Siddique passed away at a private hospital on Tuesday after suffering a heart attack. As news of his demise spread, fans and actors who worked with the director over the years, took to social media to share their shock and offer their condolences to the director's family.

Kareena Kapor Khan, who worked with the director on the blockbuster film 'Bodyguard' co-starring Salman Khan, took to her social media handle to pen a heartfelt note. Sharing a black and white photo of Siddique, she wrote, "Will always remember you like this... with a smile. You will be missed, Siddique Sir."

The 63-year-old was undergoing treatment for various ailments at the Amrita hospital for over a month. He reportedly suffered a heart attack on Monday. He sadly breathed his last at 9.13 PM on Tuesday.

The filmmaker, who had helmed numerous superhit Malayalam movies, was in critical condition and was on ECMO (Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation), which provides respiratory support when a person's lungs and heart are not performing adequately.

Siddique delivered several hit movies along with his friend Lal -- who is also an actor who played leading roles in various hit films himself such as 'Thenkasipattanam', 'Thommanum Makkalum', and 'Salt and Pepper' among others -- and the filmmaker duo was popularly known as 'Siddique-Lal'.

'Siddique-Lal' movies such as 'Ramji Rao Speaking', 'In Harihar Nagar', 'Godfather', 'Vietnam Colony' and 'Kabooliwala' were massive hits. Siddique is also the director of blockbuster movies including 'Hitler', 'Friends', 'Chronic Bachelor', and 'Bodyguard', among others. He directed the remake of his movie 'Bodyguard' in Hindi and Tamil, both of which performed well at the box office.
