Karamoko Dembele handed Celtic boost as Neil Lennon backs star for Scottish Cup Final role

Neil Lennon insists he's ready to hand rising star Karamoko Dembele another chance in the Scottish Cup Final against Hearts.

The 16-year-old turned heads with a action-packed 45-minute cameo against the Jambos in the Parkhead side's final Premiership fixture.

Dembele was expected to return to the academy side but the Irishman was left seriously impressed by the playmaker's ability to jolt Celtic into life during the 2-1 win.

And Lennon is adamant the England youth international has a chance of making the cut for the Hampden showpiece.

The Hoops boss told Celtic TV : “Very much so, yeah. He’s training this week, he’s fit, he’s available.

“He’s certainly put himself forward for selection for the squad.

“I said after the game, his natural football instincts and his intelligence are of a very high order.

“So to come in at 16 and have a debut like that was pretty spectacular, very mature.

“I’ve no hesitation in bringing him into the squad this week.

“He’s had a good season with the development team and I think all the first-team players are aware of his capabilities as well.”

Meanwhile, Scott Sinclair is hoping the Hoops can keep the good times rolling and secure a ninth consecutive domestic trophy by putting Craig Levein's side to the sword.

He said: "It has been a great time and we have to make sure we get the job done.

"Being part of the double treble as a player has been great. It is a massive achievement.

"When I came up here you are not even thinking about double trebles or treble trebles, you come and work hard and see how it goes.

"I couldn't have asked for anything better. It comes down to hard work and the winning mentality of the players."
