Kanye West 'humiliated' Kim and 'hurt' North with abortion rant, says Piers Morgan

Piers Morgan has launched a blistering attack on rapper, entrepreneur and US Presidential nominee Kanye West - but has insisted he "urgently needs help."

The world watched on last night as Kanye marked the beginning of his campaign for the White House with a fiery, emotional and at times tearful South Carolina rally.

During his impassioned speech, which covered some of America's most contentious topics, he touched on the subject of abortion.

And to the astonishment of many, told that he'd wanted wife (then girlfriend) Kim Kardashian to have an abortion when she fell pregnant with their eldest child, North, now seven.

They now share four children - North, Saint, four, Chicago, two and Psalm, one.

Kanye recalled that Kim had stood firm in her conviction to have the baby, and claimed that God had spoken to him to convince him of the error of his position.

And Piers isn't holding back.

"[Kanye's] not a presidential candidate - he's a very sick man having a nasty 'episode'," the Good Morning Britain host alleges, writing for MailOnline.

He added of Kanye's abortion rant: "North will now know that for months before she was born, her parents contemplated aborting her.

"Whatever your view of abortion, that's a very hurtful thing for any child to learn at that age, let alone one who will now have to see and hear the world gossiping about it because her mother and father are so famous."

Kim has thus far remained silent on Kanye's rally, though it's reported that her family was left "shocked beyond words" over the abortion rant.

Piers went on to slam Kim for allegedly not doing enough to prevent from Kanye's bid from becoming something "beyond a joke."

Mirror Online has contacted reps for Kanye and Kim for comment on Piers' writing.

Kanye claimed last night that Kim "had the pills in her hand" after she fell pregnant with North, but refused to take them.

He said that if Kim ended their marriage after his speech, he'd be "at peace" in the knowledge that she brought his beloved North into his life.

"She stood up and protected that child," he said emotionally into the mic.

Kanye had benn convinced he was wrong by divine intervention, he insisted.

"I was having the rapper's lifestyle," he recalled.

"I was sitting up in Paris and I had my leather pants on...and I had my laptop up and I got all of my creative ideas...and the screen went black and white, and God said, 'If you f**k with my vision I'm gonna f**k with yours.'"
