Kanye, Pitbull and Tony Robbins share inspiration at Miami's SLAM! charter school

Rapper Kanye West stopped by Pitbull's Miami charter school SLAM! where he took a tour with school officials and motivational speaker Tony Robbins.

Since 2013, Pitbull has served as a brand ambassador for the school which stands for Sports Leadership Academy Management (SLAM!). The school which is housed in a white, multi-story building down the street from Marlins Park, is for sixth-graders to seniors and focuses on sports management, marketing and media production.

Pitbull's partner in the school, Fernando Zulueta, led the tour _ showing off the new gym and the building across the street which will house an elementary division next year on NW 12th Avenue near the Riverside neighborhood.

"We like to serve entire families," Zulueta said in the Twitter video. "This part of town has yet to be developed."

Robbins, whom Pitbull has called his hero and friend, is also seen touring the school. Pitbull, whose real name is Armando Christian Perez, doesn't appear in the videos that West posted on Twitter, but he does appear in photos in a conference room with the rapper, Robbins and others. Zulueta said that there are currently 10 S.L.A.M. schools nationwide including one in West Palm Beach.

In an interview with the Sun Sentinel in 2016, Pitbull said, "We need to multiply and multiply and multiply SLAMs because when you grab a young mind and you mold it and you teach how to believe in itself, you motivate it and you inspire it and you teach what comes from hard work, it's something that can actually (help) make educated decisions moving forward."
