Kai Kennedy seals Rangers exit as winger agrees deal with Dunfermline amid West Ham interest

Kai Kennedy has agreed a deal to join Dunfermline on loan until the end of the season.

The winger will join the Pars and go straight into their squad for this weekend's game against Stenhousemuir in the Premier Sports Cup.

Rangers have high hopes for Kennedy have turned down bids to take him away from Ibrox on a permanent basis, with West Ham the most keen on him.

But he will head out on loan again in a bid to get more game time with his pathway to the Rangers first team blocked by the likes of Ryan Kent, Scott Wright, Jordan Jones and Brandon Barker.

Kennedy impressed during a loan spell at Inverness Caley Thistle in the first half of last season before an injury interrupted spell at Raith Rovers in the second half of the campaign.

But now he's focusing on impressing at Dunfermline and showing what he can do as he tries to prove he can make the step up to the next level.

Glasgow Live Sport understands West Ham retain an interest in him and are likely to come back in with further bids in the future, but feel Rangers asking price is currently too high.

The 19-year-old signed a new deal with Rangers last summer and Steven Gerrard handed him his first team debut in a Scottish Cup tie with Stranraer.
