Chelsea have been offered examples of Kai Havertz's versatility amid claims the Blues are closing in on a deal for the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder.
The Blues have moved quickly to strengthen their squad ahead of next season, with deals already secured for Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech.
But Chelsea aren't finished yet, with a move for Germany international Havertz in progress.
Frank Lampard's side are thought to be willing to meet Leverkusen's asking price for the 21-year-old, and personal terms are not understood to be a stumbling block.
If Havertz does arrive at Stamford Bridge, Blues boss Lampard will have a good selection headache next season, with an embarrassment of riches in attack.
However, Leverkusen left-back Wendell previously spoke about Havertz's versatility and insists the midfielder will be a success wherever he is deployed.
This theoretically gives Lampard extra flexibility when picking his side, with the option to play Havertz in four different positions.
“He’s a complete player," the Leverkusen defender told Yellow and Green Football.
“If you play him as a No.9 or as a No.10 a little bit behind, or if you put him out wide, he’ll know what to do.”
“He can understand what the manager wants. He finishes well with both feet. He’s strong with his head, he has good technique.”
“Psychologically, the Germans are very focused people, too. They are very concentrated on what they want.”

“If he goes to the Premier League, he will learn a lot. I think Kai dreams of playing there. He has that desire. I think if he decides to play in England, he will be a success.”
Havertz himself has previously explained where he feels his best position on the pitch is.
"I would say the No.8 position, inside right," Havertz said in an interview with Marca in November.
"I'm not a classic No.10, but I like to have the ball at my feet, simply enjoying myself on the pitch.
"I've played in many other positions, but I prefer to play in the centre, where I have more of the ball. My dream will always be to wear the No.10 one day at my club.
"There are many players that inspired me like Kaka, Zidane, Ronaldinho... They've always been my idols. Between the Spanish players, my favourite is Andres Iniesta. He's outstanding on the ball. Unique. I like him the most.
"Toni Kroos is a great player, I model myself on him a lot. His journey has been great. I have a lot of respect for him. His passing ability and his combination play is on another level.
"In [Germany] training, every pass from him is perfect. It doesn't matter how they give it to him."
