Juventus 'make first contact' to launch £34m Chelsea transfer as Thomas Tuchel risk summer raid

Juventus have taken the first step towards signing Chelsea midfielder Jorginho in the summer transfer window, according to reports. The 30-year-old, who has been heavily linked with a move back to the Serie A, sees his contract at Stamford Bridge expire at the end of next season.

The Italy international has featured 42 times for Thomas Tuchel's side this season, and was central to the Blues' success in the early stages of the campaign. However, amid the ongoing uncertainty at the club, doubt has been casted over the midfielder's future in west London.

Jorginho's agent Joao Santos confirmed to Tuttomercatoweb that his client has attracted the attention of five Serie A clubs, with Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain interested too. He said: "Playing in Serie A is a dream for him and his heart remains here," Santos told Tuttomercatoweb. "As things stand today, he could play for four or five clubs: Milan, Inter, Juve, Roma or Napoli.

"There are many clubs interested in him. In the past, I spoke to PSG, Barcelona and also Milan's Ricky Massara. I don't know if the Rossoneri are still interested, though.

"The fact remains, we can't do anything now because Chelsea are not allowed to sell, buy or renew contracts. Jorginho has a contract until June 2023, after the World Cup we'll see about working on a renewal."

Amid the flurry on interest, according to Calciomercato, the Old Lady have made 'first contact' with the Italian in recent days. The report claims that Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri is planning a 'revolution', and Jorginho is part of his plans to reassert the club's dominance.

However, the same outlet have outlined that the Chelsea midfielder is 'fine' at Cobham, though he is not ruling out a departure in the summer. Calciomercato add that the Juventus' sporting director Federico Cherubini has also 'memorised' Jorginho's financial requests and is 'waiting for the green light' from the player's agents and the Blues to try and tempt him away.

Jorginho, who is valued at £33.6m by CIES Football Observatory, is currently set to leave Chelsea in June 2023, which makes him eligible to engage in pre-contract talks in January.
