Justin Timberlake breaks silence on hand-holding pics and apologises to wife

Justin Timberlake has finally broken his silence after he was pictured holding the hand of Alisha Wainwright.

The 38-year-old actor and singer was seen on a night out getting cosy with his 30-year-old Palmer co-star as she stroked his thigh and he held her hand, during the boozy get together in New Orleans on November 21.

Justin has been married to Jessica Biel, 37, since 2012 and he has admitted to “a strong lapse in judgement” in an open letter on Instagram .

He decided to give a full explanation of what happened on the night out before apologising for "hurting the people I love."

Justin started the message, which was posted to his Instagram page on December 4: "I stay away from gossip as much as I can, but for my family I feel it is important to address recent rumors that are hurting the people I love.

“A few weeks ago I displayed a strong lapse of judgement – but let me be clear – nothing happened between me and my costar.

"I drank way too much that night and regret my behavior. I should have known better. This is not the example I want to set for my son.”

Justin went on to apologise to his wife and that he would be focusing his energies on being "the best husband and father I can be."

The statement continued: "I apologize to my amazing wife and family for putting them through such an embarrassing situation, and I am focused on being the best husband and father I can be.

“This was not that. I am incredibly proud to be working on Palmer. Looking forward to continuing to make this movie and excited for people to see it.”
