Just how good is Liverpool transfer target Takumi Minamino? We asked FIFA 20

Liverpool have lined up a deal to sign Red Bull Salzburg forward Takumi Minamino in the January transfer window, with the Japan international available for as little as £7.25million due to a release clause in his contract.

The 24-year-old has faced the Reds twice this season with his current club Red Bull Salzburg in the Champions League group stages, but despite Liverpool having a 100% record against the Austrian side, Minamino has been impressive in his performances against Klopp's side, showcasing his obvious talent on the biggest stage.

It looks like his performances could have earned him a move to Anfield in January.

So, just how good is ahead of a possible transfer to Liverpool?

And, what are his main strengths and weaknesses?

We used the hugely popular FIFA 20 to find out what Liverpool fans can look forward to.

On FIFA 20, Minamino is a very interesting player, with a good mix of physical and technical attributes.

First off, Minamino is quick. Seriously quick.

His acceleration (90) and sprint speed (88) make him one of the quickest players in the Premier League, and compared with the Liverpool squad, only Sadio Mane (95) and Mohamed Salah (94) have better acceleration.

In addition, the Japan international has loads of stamina, so he can certainly fit in with Liverpool's intense style of play.

Minamino has good technical attributes too, with high attributes for dribbling, ball control, finishing, long shots and short passing. He's also got a very strong weak foot, having a four star weak foot rating, so his left foot is almost as strong as his right.

According to FIFA 20, Minamino can play at CAM, RM and as ST, so will offer Klopp great versatility, able to play in a variety of positions, and potentially offer cover for Salah, Mane and Firmino.

Overall, FIFA 20 suggests that Minamino is an interesting player who would be a great option for Jurgen Klopp, maybe not as a regular starter initially, but would offer a credible cover option for the Reds front three.

For gamers, he is a great player to have on the virtual pitch too on FIFA 20, and will cause your opponents loads of problems with his pace and technical ability.

And at just £7.25million, he looks like a bargain.

Liverpool and Michael Edwards appear to be finding value in the transfer market once again.
