Jurgen Klopp makes Liverpool squad admission and dismisses transfer plan talk

Jurgen Klopp believes Liverpool's performances over the remaining weeks of the season will not fashion the club's transfer approach this summer.

The Reds play their second match following the resumption of the Premier League when they entertain Crystal Palace on Wednesday.

The European and world champions then finish with six games in 25 days, starting against Manchester City on Thursday week.

That hectic schedule - and the temporary allowance of five substitutions per match - means a number of Liverpool fringe players and youngsters are likely to be given an opportunity.

But Klopp is adamant his views won't be swayed by individual displays during the next month.

"I don't need these games to know about my players, to be honest," said the Reds boss. "I see them every day in training.

"I know everything about my players. I don't need to see them in a specific game to see if they perform and we then plan with them for the future.

"Decisions like this are made over so many moments over a year or two or three when we work together.

"One game won't make a difference. Two or three games won't make a massive difference to judge a player.

"It's about our ideas for the future and what is possible and not possible.

"Regards any squad planning for the future, I'm only thinking about tomorrow (against Palace)."
