Jurgen Klopp explains what's going wrong for Liverpool in front of goal

Jurgen Klopp says he and his Liverpool team need to "become ourselves again" after the 1-0 loss against Burnley.

A 68-game unbeaten run at home in the Premier League, dating back to April 2017, fell by the wayside against Sean Dyche's Clarets thanks to Ashley Barnes' late penalty on Thursday.

It leaves the champions without a win in their last five games and sees them end the midweek Premier League schedule in fourth, six points adrift of leaders Manchester United.

Liverpool are also approaching the 500-minute mark without a goal since Sadio Mane's opener in the 1-1 draw with West Brom on December 27.

Klopp says his team are struggling with the decisive moments in front of goal but claimed he isn't seeing anything else hugely worrying in other areas of the Reds' play.

"It's just the job that as a manager and a coach has to do [to help the players respond]," Klopp said. "I am not the first one to do this and I will not be the last one.

"But it is not helping if I tell you what I tell the boys.

"Anyway, about this [game] specifically, I haven't had a chance to think about it because I have just done interviews, but it is still not rocket science.

"It did not work out tonight and it is not the first game it didn't work out.

"Maybe for two, three or four games or whatever. It is not about the performance, it is the decisive moments. We have to get better in the decisive moments.

"We have to become ourselves again in the decisive moments. In the buildup, all good. In the last third or the last moment, it is not how it should be.

"Now everyone will talk about it. It is not nice, it makes the problem bigger but we still have to change it."
