A frustrated Jurgen Klopp lamented Liverpool's inability to take three points after Brighton's fight-back at Anfield.
Jordan Henderson and Sadio Mane gave the hosts an early lead before seeing a third ruled out for handball shortly after the half-hour mark.
Enock Mwepu reduced arrears prior to the break before Leandro Trossard equalised in the second period.
The Belgian also had a goal ruled out for offside himself as Graham Potter's side pressed for their second successive Anfield victory.
Liverpool manager Klopp was full of praise for how Potter's side approached the game but believed his side had the opportunity to wrap up the victory when ahead in the first half.

"What I can say [about Potter], he is absolutely a nice fella and his team mirrors his ability," said Klopp.
"That's really good, he is doing a brilliant job. I think he should not worry about his future.
"But again I don't want to take anything away from Brighton, I respect what they did, but today was the day when we could have given them a proper knock and we didn't.
"I don't like a draw at home and I'm not the guy that says 'It is not possible to draw with Brighton' - but my disappointment is that today is the day we could have given them a proper knock.
"It doesn't say anything about Graham Potter but against us it should not have been enough against us today."
He added: "It's a deserved point for Brighton for different reasons.
"In our good moments we were really good, we showed how to play against Brighton, but with not playing enough football any more we opened the door.
"The best way to play against Brighton is to keep the ball, but that's what we didn't do for long enough. It's why we scored two goals.
"Sadio's second goal was my favourite goal in six years at Liverpool because of how we put them under pressure, it was insane.
"When they scored their goal I'm not sure if it was a cross or not - who cares? - and we didn't play the right football any more.

"We attacked in our good moments the centre of Brighton and we didn't do that any more.
"We slowed the game down in the wrong moments, didn't show enough initiative.
"I think after Mo scored in the second half – which was disallowed - maybe only the last five minutes we were on the front foot.
"We just tried to calm the game down when we had the ball but they scored and that is why they got a point."
