Jurgen Klinsmann tells Gary Lineker what he did after Jose Mourinho sacking at Tottenham

It has been nearly two full months that Tottenham Hotspur have been without a manager since the sacking of Jose Mourinho, but it has been revealed that they could have had one straight away.

Jurgen Klinsmann is a cult hero in N17, having signed for the club from Monaco in 1994 and gained instant infamy with his famous 'diving' celebration after his first goal against Sheffield Wednesday.

And one of Spurs' favourite sons has been speaking candidly about his interest and desire to return to the club in a managerial capacity, as they are still very much in his heart.

Speaking to Gary Lineker on BBC Sport's coverage of the clash between The Czech Republic and Croatia, Klinsmann revealed he contacted Daniel Levy as soon as Mourinho was sacked.

"Well I called him [Levy] when he let Mourinho go, and said Daniel 'What's the case now?'
He said 'listen, I've got so much to do right now, got to sort things out at the club, let's talk later on'.

Would Klinsmann be a good appointment? Let us know in the comments.

"Then I saw all the different names walking in, talking, walking out. And the same still today.
Spurs is in my heart, absolutely would I consider that but if he doesn't want to you cannot force him."

It remains to be seen whether Klinsmann is on the current short-list of potential head coachers, but he certainly has a connection to the club that most do not.

The search goes on for Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici, but Klinsmann would certainly pick up the phone, that much is for sure.
