Stars from USA Network’s Chrisley Knows Best, Julie and Todd Chrisley, sat down for an interview about their recent pardon by President Trump — just a couple of weeks ago.
In a trailer for Fox News’ upcoming episode of My View with Lara Trump, the Chrisley family sat with Trump’s daughter-in-law to share how delighted and unexpected the news was for them. For Todd, the moment was surreal, and people around him immediately assumed it had to be bad news. Per People the reality star and podcast host said, “It was the craziest thing, and everybody was just looking at me, because unfortunately, most of the news that you get in prison is bad news.”
Todd further reflected on the fateful day he received the news and concluded that it was God who “touched President Trump’s heart.” For Julie, the update came via their daughter Savannah, who had previously released a recording of a phone call with President Trump on May 27, 2025, in which he assured them that he would sign the paperwork for their release within 24 hours.
President Trump has granted some questionable pardons in the past, and the Chrisleys are no exception. The family’s claim to fame came through their reality TV show, where they showcased an extravagant lifestyle — first in Atlanta, then in Nashville. High-end cars, luxurious vacations, breathtaking mansions. The whole nine yards.
But behind the scenes, the Chrisleys were running a very sophisticated wire fraud racket. Alongside a former business partner, they used fraudulent documents to obtain loans, and when that started to catch up with them, they used the same tactics to secure new loans to pay off the old ones. The money then went toward designer clothes and other luxury indulgences.
Julie also personally rented a residence in Los Angeles — and never paid any rent on it. As for their issues with the IRS, the couple reportedly set up a corporate bank account under Julie’s name and managed to avoid paying half a million dollars in taxes. There’s a very conclusive Reddit thread that breaks down just how many victims the Chrisleys left unpaid in their wake — people who now not only have to dig themselves out of that financial hole but must also contend with being denied justice. The idea that the Chrisleys see this as God’s intention only makes it more of an insult, especially given how unapologetic they seem.
As for social media, the public was by all means — not pleased. One user saw the news and commented that they weren’t surprised, citing the President’s own history with grifting (and possibly tax evasion). Another commenter said this was all the proof you’ll ever need that money can buy you justice — regardless of how that money was obtained. The commenter added that the defrauded probably aren’t sharing in the Chrisleys’ joy.
a grifter pardoned 2 grifters. birds of a feather.

Money buys justice. I’m sure the people that they defrauded don’t feel the same joy they do.

It’s disheartening for the victims — the employees, the gardeners, the lawyers — who were never paid for their labor. Truly, Trump has created an environment where people with no consideration for their neighbors can thrive.
