New England Patriots receiver Julian Edelman honored David Ortiz for Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final on Wednesday night.
Before the Boston Bruins lost to the St. Louis Blues, Edelman supported banner captain Liam Fitzgerald. Edelman and gymnast Aly Raisman wore Ortiz’s Red Sox jersey.
Ortiz is recovering from gunshot wounds in a Boston hospital after getting shot in the Dominican Republic. He was ambushed on June 9 in Santo Domingo and was transferred from a hospital in the Dominican Republic to Mass General on Monday night. He underwent an exploratory surgery and is stable condition.
Even though Edelman, Raisman and Fitzgerald amped up the fans at TD Garden, the Bruins lost, 4-1, and the Blues won the Stanley Cup trophy.
