Julia Fox has always been refreshingly transparent about the cosmetic procedures she’s had done. In a candid interview, she admits that there’s a part of her that wishes she could turn back the clock now that her idea of beauty — and who she performs beauty for — has changed.
The multi-hypenate talent has been getting procedures like Botox, filler and liposuction since she was 21 years old. According to the Uncut Gems star, it’s her responsibility to be upfront with her fans about
“It’s super important when you become famous or a public figure to be transparent,” she told Allure.
“Now, when I see someone and I can tell they’ve never done anything … I wish I could go back and be that person. I was so hung up on this idea that I needed to be attractive to men so that I could survive.”

During the interview, Fox admits that she hasn’t had anything done for a long time. Although she doesn’t have any immediate plans to go under the knife again, she’s pretty upfront that she’s not ruling it out down the track.
“I probably will [get more work done one day], but I’m just not as concerned with it right now,” she shared, noting that while there is beauty found in ageing, she doesn’t know how she’ll feel about watching herself getting older.
“That’s what I think I’m the most scared of, feeling old, and there are times where I feel old… tired over it, disillusioned,” she explained.
“When you’re young and hot, it’s like that’s your identity. Then you’re like, shit, I need to stay young and hot. Am I going to chase the way I used to look, or am I going to evolve and see what’s on the other side?
“It could be something totally different, and I’m choosing to go that way. I just want to see who’s there waiting for me. It’ll definitely be uncomfortable, but I think I’m ready for it.”

Fox has been outspoken about her journey of decentering men and dressing to reject the male gaze in the past. Last year, Fox — who identifies as pansexual — shared that she’d stopped dating men entirely.
“The way my life is, I can’t see why a man would be beneficial,” she said to Allure.
“I’m laser-focused on being a good mom, on being a good provider, on making my dreams come true. There’s just so much more you can do with your time than waiting around to see if a guy’s going to text you back or not.”
That’s my queen, right there.
