Julia Fox discusses her net worth and defends her ‘underwhelming’ NYC apartment

Julia Fox was recently praised by many fans for her honesty and relatability after providing a tour of her New York apartment on TikTok.

The Italian-American actress and model, 32, showed off the modest-looking two-bedroom flat she shares with her son Valentino, two.

However, some people have questioned Fox’s reported $30 million (£24 million) net worth after seeing how “normal” her living quarters were.

In response, Fox said on TikTok: “I really wasn’t expecting my apartment tour to go so viral, people are really freaking out over it.

“It’s really just not that deep. This just happens to be the apartment that I took my son home from the hospital. So it’s his home.”

The star, who used to date rapper Kanye West, said she could “probably afford a bigger place”, but that she wanted to have “that sense of normalcy for Valentino”.

Of her net worth, the Uncut Gems star said: “I’m not worth 30 million dollars, not even close.

“I don’t need 30 million dollars; what does one person need 30 million dollars for? I’ve survived on a lot less and I’m doing just fine.”

She ended her video by saying how heartwarming it had been to see so many people relate to her.

In Fox’s original video last week, she said: “I never thought in a million years I would do this, but I believe in maximum transparency, and so I’m gonna give you guys an apartment tour.

“I know I’m going to get roasted. Hopefully, maybe someone can watch this and say, ‘Okay, maybe I’m not doing so bad’.

”For me personally, I don’t like excessive displays of wealth, they make me feel icky. Especially people who have really big houses. It’s just really wasteful when there’s so many homeless people in this country and I’m not really like that.”

She also revealed that she had a mice problem, saying: “I kind of, let them rock. I appreciate that, at night, they come out and clean up the crumbs…I’m not gonna evict the mice soon.”

Fox said she slept in the living room alongside her friend’s ashes and kept shoes in her kitchen.

She also has an area for plants, which she calls her “grow station where nothing grows because we don’t know what we’re doing”.
