Judwaa 2, starring Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu, has opened well at the box office. The news comes as a relief for Bollywood which has not been faring well over the last several months.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted on Saturday, saying that Judwaa 2 made Rs 15.55 crore on its opening day in India business. “#Judwaa2 pumps oxygen in the lungs of an ailing industry... Has a TERRIFIC Day 1... Fri ? 15.55 cr. India biz.”

Adarsh went on to tweet the year’s top films which had bumper openings.

It may well be noted that a great opening doesn’t necessarily ensure that the film will sail through as has been the case with Salman Khan-starrer Tubelight.
Judwaa 2 is a remake of the 1997-hit starring Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor and south Indian actor Rambha. The film was directed by king of comedy David Dhawan, who has now directed his son Varun in Judwaa 2.
Said to be a laugh riot, Judwaa 2 received mixed reviews while a few had a word of praise for Varun Dhawan’s performance.
Varun play twins, Raja and Prem, while Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu play the love interests to his twin avatars. If you have an appetite for slapstick, you will like it.
