Jota pictured in Saudi as Celtic winger closes in on Al-Ittihad transfer move

Jota has been pictured in Saudi Arabia as he closes in on his bumper transfer to Al-Ittihad.

The Celtic winger is set to make a £25million switch, which will net the Hoops their biggest fee for a player in history.

Jota has reportedly agreed personal terms with the Saudi Pro League side and all that is left to be completed is the deal between Al-Ittihad and Celtic.

The Portuguese star did not report for Celtic pre-season training today and now a picture is doing the rounds on social media of Jota in Saudi.

The winger can be seen alongside his representatives in a hotel as speculation mounts over his future.

Jota, 24, has reportedly agreed terms on a huge deal worth £10million a year tax-free at Al-Ittihad. That breaks down to a weekly wage of around £192,000.

And Celtic look set to net a tidy profit on Jota - albeit with a portion of the profit to be handed over to Benfica who hold a sell-on clause.

Jota made his loan to Celtic permanent last summer for around £6.5m, and it's reported his move to Saudi club Al-Ittihad could bag Celtic a £25m transfer fee.

However, should Celtic knock back a £25m fee for Jota then the player could still see his wage soar due to a contract clause at Parkhead.

It's reported the winger has a clause in his deal that would see his wage increased to between £35k to £45k should a £25m fee be knocked back.

Should Jota move to Al-Ittihad then it would mean the winger would be lining up alongside Karim Benzema and N-Golo Kante after the duo made stunning big-money moves to Saudi this summer.

Another man who is heading to Saudi, is former Rangers boss Steven Gerrard.

The Liverpool legend has completed his move to Al-Ettifaq and the club confirmed the news on Twitter this afternoon.

Alongside a video montage of the Anfield hero, they wrote: "Where legends are found.

"We’re thrilled to announce Steven Gerrard is our new head coach."
