Jota Celtic transfer exit fee 'revealed' as potential Al-Ittihad deal will also see Benfica cash in

Jota's shock transfer exit from Celtic to Al-Ittihad could net the club up to £25MILLION, according to a report.

The Hoops star is reported to be the subject of series interest from the Saudi Pro League outfit and a transfer would see him team up with former Real Madrid superstar Karim Benzema and ex-Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante who have recently made the switch.

Big names across Europe have started following Cristiano Ronaldo to the Gulf State with many more expected to follow in the coming weeks and months. The Portuguese winger is the latest to be lined up for a big money move and the Daily Record have now 'revealed' the eye-watering fee. Jota initially joined the Scottish champions on loan from Benfica in Ange Postecoglou's first season in charge before he made it his priority to thrash out a permanent transfer last summer at the cost of around £6.5m. He netted 15 goals and provided 12 assists including a memorable strike at the Bernabeu in a Champions League defeat to Los Blancos last term as the Parkhead men landed a domestic Treble.

The big fee would not all go to Celtic with part of the summer agreement to land the 24-year-old including a reported 30 per cent sell-on clause, with Benfica also set to cash in if a transfer indeed goes through.

The loss of Jota would come as a huge blow to Brendan Rodgers who has only arrived back for a second spell in charge following Postecoglou's exit for a crack at England with Tottenham.

Hoops chiefs remain tight-lipped over any official approach but the same publication state a deal with the Pro League champs is close to being done and his agents - the company run by Jorge Mendes - are confident a deal will be struck between the two parties.

Nuno Espirito Santo is the man in charge at Al-Ittihad with former Hearts gaffer Ian Cathro his No2.
