Joshua Kimmich makes Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi claim amid transfer speculation

Joshua Kimmich has declared he would welcome the chance to play alongside "unbelievable" Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi at Bayern Munich.

Juventus forward Ronaldo and Barcelona captain Messi are linked with summer moves away from their current clubs.

Ronaldo has just over one year remaining on his deal in Turin and is reportedly keen to return to Real Madrid after failing to fulfil his Champions League ambitions with Juve.

Messi, meanwhile, is out of contract this summer and could join Paris Saint-Germain if he decides not to sign a new deal at Camp Nou.

But Kimmich has talked up a move to Bayern Munich for either superstar.

Quizzed on which players he would most like to line up alongside, the Germany international told Bild : "Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

"For me, it's so impressive, almost unbelievable, how you can maintain this level for over 15 years. I'd like to see what they do every day."

Kimmich also opened up on his admiration for Messi's former Barca teammate Xavi, who is widely considered one of the greatest midfielders to have graced the game.

Where will Ronaldo and Messi end up this summer? Have your say in the comments.

"My role model was always Xavi Hernandez from Barcelona," said the 26-year-old. "He was never the biggest, but he played with vision, technique and passing, always bringing others into the game.

"He impressed me and that's how I wanted to play. I got to know him during a training camp in Doha and it was a really cool moment!"

Kimmich was a key member of the Bayern Munich team which won the treble of the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and Champions League last season.

A versatile player capable of playing at right-back or in central midfield, he has chipped in with an outstanding three goals and 13 assists in 26 appearances this season.

Although Bayern suffered a shock second-round exit from the DFB-Pokal this season, they are firmly in the race for the Bundesliga and Champions League titles and Kimmich says spirits are high at the Allianz Arena.

He added: "In general, the team is currently very harmonious. We have a really cool group."
