Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has spoken about his decision to leave Gareth Bale on the bench this afternoon.
Bale has been deemed fit to play for the first time since his loan return, the Welshman initially spending time out with injury after making the move back from Real Madrid on loan.
But despite being fit, he started from the bench today as Spurs take on West Ham at home in the Premier League in what is their first game back from the international break.
And Mourinho spoke about the decision to Sky Sports ahead of kick-off.
“We have three incredible attacking players on the bench," he said.
"Gareth, Vinicius and Lucas (Moura), and we have Dele and Lamela, and Lo Celso, who’s injured.
"This is our squad at this moment, so we have lots of talent in that third of the pitch.”
Mourinho also discussed how Tottenham approached the clash with the Hammers, speaking, of course, before Spurs took a 3-0 lead within just 16 minutes.
“I’ve found that the message and the philosophy that we want is here," he added. "We don’t speak about finishing in the top four, top six, top 10, or to win the cup, we just speak about every match - we go to win.
"We can lose, we lost against Everton, we drew against Newcastle, but we go to every match - it doesn’t matter where or in which competition - we go to every match to win.
"Old Trafford was a good example of that, we went there and we conceded a goal in the first minute, and we just played our football.”
