Jonah Hill won’t be playing a villain in Robert Pattinson's Batman as talks break down

Sorry DC fans – Jonah Hill will not be facing off against Robert Pattinson as the villain in The Batman.

The actor had been in talks to play one of the Dark Knight’s adversaries in the upcoming reboot, but reportedly walked away after failing to secure a deal with Warner Bros.

Hill had been lining up a role as one of the Gotham City Rogues Gallery, with reports suggesting he’d either play the Riddler or Penguin.

However, the Hollywood Reporter has now revealed that Hill dropped out due to being “too far apart on the deal”.

It's disappointing news for film fans, and Hill's involvement would have been an intriguing bit of casting. But there is good news – while the studio are still on the hunt for a villain, Zoë Kravitz joined the cast of The Batman as Catwoman this week.

The Big Little Lies actress joins Pattinson, who takes over from Ben Affleck in the title role in director Matt Reeves' new film.

The Batman is due for release in 2021.
