Join Knockhill for the racing banter

MOTORSPORT fans can catch the gossip from the stars of all kinds of racing thanks to Knockhill’s Duncan Vincent.

The lead commentator for the famous Fife circuit has been hosting a series of Friday Night Quarantine Live shows on Instagram. And this Friday night (May 8, 2020) he’ll be chatting with British Superbike Championship rider Taylor Mackenzie and sports car superstar Marino Franchitti.

They will be joined by world record-breaking cyclist Mark Beaumont and triple British Touring Car Championship title holder Matt Neal, who is back for his second appearance.

The show is proving a big draw for racers and previous guests have included Jonny Adam, Dario Franchitti and Ryan Dalziel. You’ll find this week's show at @knockhillracingcircuit on Instagram from 7pm.

And if that’s not enough of a motorsport fix for you then you can join Duncan again on Saturday evenings from 7pm on Facebook live for a weekly quiz. Go to www.facebook.com/knockhill/ to join in the fun tomorrow.

Meanwhile, one of Britain’s top co-drivers, James Morgan, produced a virtual reality masterclass to win the first-ever British Rally Championship Esports Invitational event.

The iconic forestry tracks of Wales hosted the opener, with 21 competitors lined up for the simulator action. And Morgan, who usually co-drives for fellow-Welshman Rhys Yates in the real world, surprised the field to win by 7.7 seconds in a Mitsubishi Mirage R5.

Second place went to 2019 Junior British Champion Josh McErlean, while double British champ Matt Edwards was close behind in third. Now attention switches to the Motorsport UK eBRC series, which will see 500-plus contestants on the same stages in a Ford Fiesta R2T.
