Johnny Sexton has reportedly committed his future to Leinster after a French newspaper today linked the fly-half with a move to Top14 pacesetters Lyon.
The 34-year-old is currently contracted to Leinster and Ireland until 2021.
But increased competition for the Ireland number 10 jersey - with Connacht's Jack Carty making the World Cup squad, Munster's Joey Carbery a long-touted successor, and Sexton's Leinster team-mate Ross Byrne the form 10 in the country at the moment - may turn Sexton's head abroad.
French rugby publication Midi Olympique reports Sexton's representatives met with Lyon after Leinster's Champions Cup win away in France three weeks ago.
But according to the Irish Times, Sexton was never tempted by the lucrative deal and will remain in Ireland for now.
Sexton is currently injured and won't be back in action for Leinster or Ireland until February.
The Dubliner is no stranger to playing in the Top 14 himself, having spent two years at Racing Metro earlier this decade.
"There is certainly nothing from our end," said Leinster senior coach Stuart Lancaster, who insisted there has been no indication from Sexton about a possible return to France after his previous spell with Racing.
"Johnny is contracted to Leinster and Ireland until 2021, so the only conversation if I had with Johnny is how can he get better, how he can help Leinster get better and how can he play for Ireland.
"I can't see any merit in that (moving)."
