Johnny Depp has responded to allegations made by a former costar regarding an incident of verbal abuse on set. The costar, who worked with Depp on the 2001 film Blow, claimed that Depp accosted her after a director instructed her to laugh during one of Depp's monologues. The costar alleged that Depp became aggressive, accusing her of pulling focus and using profanity towards her.

In response, Depp's representative stated that the actor values good working relationships with cast and crew, and that the account provided by the costar differs significantly from the recollection of others present on set at the time.

Additional testimony from a sound technician who worked on the film Blow contradicted the costar's claims, stating that he did not witness any such incident involving Depp. The technician emphasized that he was constantly monitoring audio for any disturbances and did not detect any issues during the alleged altercation.

The costar described Depp's subsequent apology as a 'non-apology apology,' where Depp attributed his behavior to being immersed in his character and struggling with a Boston accent. The costar accepted the apology, despite feeling uncomfortable during the incident.

The director of the film, who has since passed away, was not reported to have intervened or addressed the situation between Depp and the costar. The costar expressed her resolve to remain composed during the incident, recalling advice from her father to not show any signs of distress.
