John Toshack diagnosed with dementia as his son gives health update on Liverpool icon

  • Former Liverpool striker and Wales and Real Madrid manager John Toshack has been diagnosed with dementia.
  • His son, Cameron Toshack, revealed the 77-year-old's condition to the Daily Mail, stating his father experiences "good days and bad days".
  • Cameron noted that while his father's short-term memory is affected, his long-term memory of his illustrious football career remains remarkably clear.
  • Toshack scored 96 goals for Liverpool, winning three league titles, two UEFA Cups, and the European Cup during his seven-year spell.
  • He also managed Wales twice and is the only Welshman to have managed Real Madrid, leading them to a La Liga title in 1990.
