John Toshack clarifies his son’s ‘dementia diagnosis’ claim

  • Former Liverpool and Wales great John Toshack has reportedly denied claims made by his son that he has dementia.
  • Toshack, 77, told Spanish newspaper El Mundo that he is not “demented” and attributes any short-term memory issues to a severe battle with Covid-19 and pneumonia in 2022.
  • His son, Cameron, had told the Daily Mail earlier this week that he was given permission to share his father's dementia diagnosis.
  • Toshack's wife, Mai, stated that her husband has not seen their son Cameron, who works as a coach in Thailand, in two years, despite Cameron claiming they spoke “most days”.
  • Toshack, who lives in Girona, Spain, had a distinguished career as a player for Liverpool and managed Wales and Real Madrid, among other clubs.
