John McGinn had fans in stitches with a bizarre social media reference to forgotten Rangers man Bilel Mohsni.
The Aston Villa and Scotland midfielder was playing for St Mirren at the time Mohsni's Ibrox career came to a sour end in 2015.
He was involved in an altercation with Motherwell 's Lee Erwin near the end of the Premiership playoff final, which Rangers lost.
And after appearing to punch his opponent, he was shown a red card and dealt a seven-game suspension in what was his final game.
Fast forward to the present day and McGinn, now playing in the Premier League for Villa, was referencing the Covid booster jab programme as Prime Minister Boris Johnson addressed the nation in a Sunday night press conference.
And he caught fans by surprise when he brought Mohsni's name out of nowhere.
"More jabs than Bilel Mohsni," he tweeted.
McGinn's Villa side lost to Liverpool on Saturday after Steven Gerrard's flying start to life back in the Premier League.
They're scheduled to face Norwich on Tuesday, however reports of a covid outbreak at Villa Park have thrown the game into jeopardy.
