John Kavanagh has revealed his newborn son's name is Conall John Kavanagh - and there's a unique meaning behind it.
The MMA guru and his fiancee Orlagh Hunter welcomed their first child into the world earlier this week.
Explaining the name, Kavanagh posted on Instagram: "Conall - "Strong as a Wolf".
"A Celtic name borne by many legendary Kings and Warriors of Ireland.
"One of them was the Ulster hero Conall Cearnach. "Conall of the Victories" who avenged Cúchulainn's death by killing Lugaid.
"Middle name John from the Icelandic tradition of surnames usually derived from the father's name.
"My dad's name is Alan so if I'd been born there I'd be called John Alansson - John, son of Alan.
"I always have had a special relationship with Iceland and the people there so wanted part of that tradition.
"The Kavanagh name is in good hands."
Earlier this week, Kavanagh thanked his friends and family for their kind messages.
He tweeted: "An overwhelming number of messages from friends and family around the world.
"Thank you everyone, apologies if I don't reply but all your heartfelt messages really meant a lot.
"Orlagh and Junior doing fantastic."
