John Gotti III demands rematch with Floyd Mayweather after sparking brawl in fight

John Gotti III is pushing for a rematch against Floyd Mayweather less than a week on from their mass brawl in Florida.

The grandson of mob boss John Gotti served as the opponent for Mayweather's latest exhibition fight as the duo met in Miami last weekend. Gotti was disqualified by referee Kenny Bayless in the sixth round but the fight was far from over as he proceeded to charge towards Mayweather and wing punches at him.

Madness then unfolded in the ring as both Gotti and Mayweather's teams started brawling with each other. Gotti was handed a six month ban by the Florida State Athletic Commission for his actions, but he is keen to set up a rematch against Mayweather. Gotti also claimed that Mayweather was disqualified by Bayless for trash-talking, not just him.

“Joe Rogan it was mutually called for both of us cursing at one another,” Gotti wrote on Instagram. “Those are the only two moments I clinched the [whole] fight. You still the man [though] Joe. Logan Paul clinched five million times though but that was okay. Floyd gassed himself out and I started having brief moments and they called it. Hard when everyone on his payroll.”

Gotti suggested a second fight should take place in New York, the same city his grandfather once ran a notorious mob in the 1980s. "The majority spoke you f------ pineapple. Let’s do it again, this time your whole team getting left in the street. Me and this girl Floyd Mayweather run it back in New York. Who’s in? This time I’m bringing heavy hitters. Next time I fight him like a dog," he added.

The fight marked Gotti's third time in the ring after crossing over from MMA, where he has a professional record of 5-1. The brawl in the ring also led to scuffles breaking out in the FLA Live Arena crowd, as police went on to clear the arena and threaten charges against bystanders who did not leave immediately.

Gotti even brought UFC legend Conor McGregor's name into the equation when he said of Mayweather on Instagram: "Punk b****, you my enemy for life. [Conor McGregor], we need back up. Bum never put me down or stopped me it was a DQ for no reason." McGregor later voiced his support for the Gotti family and criticised Mayweather's performance in the fight.
