John Dorsey stresses ‘there is a lot of football’ left for his 2-4 Browns

Browns GM John Dorsey spoke to the media during the bye week, and in his series of answers to a broad range of questions, there was a prevalent theme.

“There is a lot of football to be played”.

Dorsey gave that exact quote or a close iteration of it five different times in the press conference, including his opening statement. He clearly believes in the concept, too.

The experienced GM brought up his time in Seattle and in Kansas City when teams he was a part of rebounded from poor starts and made playoff runs. And Dorsey correctly pointed out the Browns are 2-1 against the AFC this year and 1-0 in the AFC North with 10 games to play.

There is indeed a lot of football to be played. It affords the Browns a chance to overcome the sluggish and underwhelming start. Dorsey’s Browns have a lot of football left, but it needs to be better than what we’ve seen from the team in 2019.
