John Barrowman complains after no mask enforcement in Heathrow premium airport lounge

Doctor Who and Dancing On Ice star John Barrowman was unhappy and complained after there was no mask enforcement at one of the premium lounges in Heathrow airport.

The Glasgow born talent, who now lives in Palm Springs with his husband Scott Gill, was flying back home after appearing on Dancing On Ice and then getting the second of his AstraZeneca injections this weekend in Wales.

John met nurse Trisha from Wishaw in Port Talbot for his second injection before going back to Palm Springs via Heathrow to see his mum and dad and Scott in Palm Springs.

He was appalled by the lack of mask enforcement in the Premium Plaza lounge that Virgin Atlantic and others were using.

He made a video and wrote about his disappointment saying: "Hey everyone, hey Virgin Atlantic, just letting you know that I'm in the Premium Plaza Lounge that you are using for your customers in terminal two, Heathrow, and just so you know that mask enforcement is not being done in here.

John added: "I was told that people are allowed to sit and not wear a mask. That's not right."

He elaborated: "They are not eating, just sitting or talking on the phone. No one enforcing it. I took my test and am following the rules so should they! Why are you sending us there if it’s not being enforced. So I left..."

John's followers on Instagram agreed that it wasn't right people were allowed without masks in the airport lounge.

Presenter Emma Forbes said: "Am so pleased you did this. They should be adhering to the rules . Well done you xxx"

Drag race star Michelle Visage added: "YOU TELL THEM"

And former chat show host Trisha Goddard added: "Wow! They are way, way stricter here in NY! Good for you, calling them out!"

A Virgin Atlantic spokesperson commented: "The health and safety of our customers is always our top priority.

"We’d like to thank Mr Barrowman for making us aware of his experience.

"We have a zero tolerance policy on non-mask wearing and we will be addressing his issues as a priority."
