Jogger stumbles across creature that 'could very well be an alien' after storm

A jogger who stumbled across a bizarre squidgy-looking anomaly during a run in a city turned to the internet for help to identify what it could be.

Harry Hayes shared an image of the creature online, and it shows a long trunk-like section, a part that looks like a human lung, and what could be an eye.

He said he found it while running through Sydney, Australia, after a storm and said it could have washed up in recent bad weather, as the Daily Star reports.

Harry said that with how 2022 is going so far he wasn't willing to rule anything out, and said the creature "could very well be alien ".

Harry said: "My gut says it's some kind of embryo but with Covid, World War III and the floods [going on right now] this could very well be an alien."

Australia's east coast has seen a huge amount of heavy rain and flooding in recent days, but this odd-looking creature was not found in a flood zone.

The downpour that soaked Brisbane and triggered massive floods across the city is now making its way south to dump Sydney with up to 200mm worth of rain expected.

Academics at two local universities – the University of Sydney and the University of New South Wales – have so far been unable to identify the organism.

In May last year, a horrified hiker – once again in Australia – stumbled across what they believed to be an alien creature that smelt like “rotting flesh”.

The image shared on Reddit, showing the black and red organism with tentacle-like arms sprouting from the body looking as though it has come from the ground, was taken on Mount Nebo, near Brisbane.

User ‘Aus556762’ posted the picture along with the caption: "WTF is this? Smells like rotting flesh. Mt Nebo".

They also added that the smell – which they compared to “death” – was eye-wateringly strong from a metre away.

The user added that it was also attracting flies and people said it reminded them of something from Resident Evil or Stranger Things.
