Jogger fighting for their life after being hit by car on Christmas Day

A jogger is in hospital in a serious condition after being hit by a car on Christmas Day.

The incident happened on Northgate Street, otherwise known as Millpond Bridge, in Pembroke at around 12pm on Wednesday.

The man, aged 51, was in a collision with a Skoda car that was being driven on the bridge, a short distance from Pembroke Castle. 

Police say the man sustained “serious head injuries” and was airlifted to hospital the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.

A spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “We are appealing for information following a collision between a runner and a car at Millpond Bridge, Pembroke, on Christmas Day.

“At around midday, a man who is believed to have been out jogging came into contact with a light coloured Skoda Fabia, which was travelling across the bridge towards Pembroke.

“The man sustained serious head injuries and was conveyed to hospital by air ambulance, where he remains in a critical condition.

“Anyone with information, and in particular anyone with dash cam footage that might help the investigation, is asked to contact Dyfed-Powys Police.”
